Have you ever looked at the saints throughout history and thought, "I could never be a saint! You must have to be perfect or do something extraordinary to get there." It's easy to think that way when we look at these remarkable men and women. But what if becoming a saint doesn't mean being perfect? What if it doesn't mean becoming someone you're not, but instead becoming more fully the person God created you to be? The truth is, sainthood isn't reserved for extraordinary people. Each of us can become a saint. It begins with something as simple as: listening for God's will in our lives and putting it into practice. After all, the saints we celebrate had access to the same Word of God and the same Eucharist that we do today. They weren't asked to be someone else, and neither are we. Today, Father Michael Trail teaches us that sainthood invites us to become more fully who God created us to be.
