Starting June 11th, 2021 the State of Illinois, the City of Chicago, and the Archdiocese of Chicago are moving into stage five of the reopening plan. What this means for us at Old St. Pat's is that we get to open our doors. We get to be more fully together in this space. We get to sing our hearts out and we get to step into this next moment of being church and doing church together.
All the details can be found on our Old St. Patrick's website. Highlights include, masks are no longer required at liturgies, however, we ask those that are unvaccinated to continue to wear a mask for your health, to protect our children and those at greater risk in our community. For those who feel more comfortable wearing masks, please continue to do so, there is no judgments here and no questions.
No mass reservations or signups are necessary just come for an 8:00 am, 10:00 am, or 5:00 PM liturgy and we will be here to welcome you with delight and enthusiasm. There will no longer be social distancing required so all are welcome to simply find a seat wherever you would like. For those who feel a little more comfortable with a little more space, Hughes Hall is available to you with audio and live feed of the mass upstairs. And with our newly improved worship aid, we'll invite everyone to participate fully. That means we can all sing together again.
If you're one of our wonderful community members living outside the Chicago area, or you're just not ready to come back to campus in person, fear not, we will continue to be in communion with one another through our live stream services and virtual programming throughout the year, the pandemic has changed a lot of things for us and we ourselves are different but we've also learned and grown a lot during this difficult time with the help of our God.
It's really an exciting time because we're able now to open up to the church for full participation in worship. We look forward to seeing everyone! We'll continue virtually, we'll continue online, but being together draws us into that more special transformative presence of the Lord with us and between us. We look forward to seeing you!!
